We Create Awesome : " A MURDER MISTERY " (Part 2)
Investigation
David was at his police station, while Chris and Karl were waiting for him at St. George Cemetery. Then David came to the cemetery. Both the funerals were happening - Angel (even though she had died some months back) and John. David got a call from his head constable, “Sir, there’s one more case. A murder. Sir, please come quick as it may give some better clarity about your sister’s case.” Chris, Karl and of course David rushed to the police station. “A body had been found near the flyover, sir.” said the head constable. It was the body of the person who was arrested for bombing Skilfor, a city next to Linkston. As they thought that it had some link to Angel’s case, the investigation started right away.
They sent the body for some tests, and from those reports they could find out that the person, Shahabuddhin had died three months before the body was found. Karl was shocked. They went to Shahabuddhin’s house. They asked his family about his character. His wife said, “He was happy. But we never knew that he worked with Homi Charles, the infamous bomber. We felt sad when we got to know that he was missing, and we didn’t want to inform the police as they would kill him. But now he died. And sir, he was missing from three months. Did he die three months back itself?” Chris said, “Sorry ma’am, but yes.” They did not want to waste time in enquiring about why they didn’t inform that Shahabuddhin was working under Homi Charles. They left the house. They reached the flyover to search for some clues. But there were no clues.
They were going to Homi Charles to get some information. He was in the Central Jail. They asked him about the death of Shahabuddhin. He told that Shahabuddhin was working under him but he doesn’t know about the death of Shahabuddhin. David was furious. He took his gun and was about to fire at Homi Charles, then he said, “David, listen to me. I can tell you one thing. You can’t always believe everyone. Do you agree with me?” That was his last word. David fired. He was suspended. He was furious as he thought that Charles was fooling around.
But what did he mean? David didn’t care. Chris and Karl also couldn’t understand and as David was angry and they didn’t want to ask him anything. They went to their guest house and took rest. David was lying on his couch and so many thoughts struck his mind. But there was one valuable piece of information. Bomb blast! Jim was prisoned for a bomb blast. So, there was some link with Angel. David said, “Boys, let us go and ask Charles about Angel.” But he forgot that he had killed Charles. Karl said, “David, how can you forget that you killed him?” They lost an important clue and David lost hope.
He was very sad. He went into depression. He sold the guest house. Chris, Karl and David went to David’s house. David was going crazy as he had not done anything about the case. Now, he had only one option and this could help him. He always trusted his sister, but this was the first time he suspected her. He entered her room!
As always, it was normal. He checked her room thoroughly. He always felt that his sister was there behind him while he was searching. But there was no one. His sister’s thoughts were strongly stuck onto his mind. Then he found something. He was completely lost in thoughts. He couldn’t see what that was. He closer and closer to it. He fainted. Chris and Karl heard the noise and immediately took him to the hospital. They understood that David was suspecting Angel. While David was in the hospital, Chris and Karl came to Angel’s room. But, after sometime, Angel’s parents came and stopped them from doing so as they thought what Chris and Karl was doing was wrong (checking others room). Now, David had to come.
After few days, David came back and started searching. That object was a briefcase. But it was locked. Where was the key? Chris remembered that a key was found near the body of Angel. They ran to the forensic lab. They could get the key easily as all the evidences and other items were kept safely by the Crime Branch. They took it and ran back. But the briefcase wasn’t there. David’s parents had taken it. David thought that they wouldn’t give it to them but when Karl explained about what they were doing, they gave it as even they were suspecting her.
Now, they opened the
briefcase. But it was empty. His mom said, “She used to talk to someone on the
phone about some bomb blast. I got scared and wanted to inform the police. But
I stopped as I got to know that she was helping the police to catch Jim, the
one who did the blast.” David knew that Jim didn’t do the blast but he didn’t
want to tell this to his parents. He gave the briefcase to Chris and he went
and kept it in Angel’s room. When he was coming back, he stepped on a hollow
tile and slipped. He called David and Karl. They lifted it with all their might
and they found a phone. It was switched off as the battery was dead, but there
was a SIM card. They put that SIM card into Karl’s phone and there were lot of
outgoing calls. And all were to Homi Charles. Luckily a call was recorded. David
played it, “Angel : Charles, when is the next blast? Charles : Ma’am tomorrow.
In Linkston.” This call was recorded a few months ago. Now they understood what
Charles meant to say in the jail, ‘You can’t always believe everyone.’ David
had one question, “Angel, who are you?”
