RICHNESS OF KANNADA POETS...
The poet of 20th century with an ideology of SARVODAYA, it's none other than our beloved PUTTAPPA :)
His books are the sole evidence for his acknowledging nature and great interest in all the greatest literatures of the world. The emerging, industrialization, Colonialism, British administration,   Christian missionaries during his period inspired him to give a new dimension to his literary works! 
He was a true devotee of nature. We all enjoy nature but at times we lack proper words to express our joy and the beauty that we see but PUTTAPPA aka KUVEMPU was never short of words. With him he had  treasury of words and used it very smartly, boldly and effectively without any hesitation. 
The book which I'm holding on to now is KANURU HEGGADATI, 18th edition as mentioned in it's colophon. Novel encloses of 81 chapters and comes with a beautiful panel showing RACKET-TAILED DRONGO(kajana in kannada) which is also known as KOTHWAL (hindi word which means guard) famous for its whistle note. Book depicts the simple life of malenadigas and their close interference with nature and the influence of west culture and modernization on them. Book also comes up with Appendices and notes which supplements the main text of the novel.
Inspiration :
Once I was an extensive reader of  novels, most of it in kannada by my favourite writers PURNACHANDRA TEJASWI, SHIVARAMA KARANTA, TRIWENI, GORURU, USHA NAVARATNARAM, BELEGERE. 
Out of some prejudice I always kept myself away from KUVEMPU's books, though we hail from a same place! 
 Lately, KANURU HEGGADATI was in my mind after I watched MALEGALALLI MADUMAGALU,
an overnight drama at National School Of Drama, Bengaluru. 
Now, I'm half way through my journey in kanuru! I'm totaly reviving my childhood days spent in SAMAGODU and the book served as an inspiration to post  "kopparigeya bella", my second attempt of penning and frist atempt of typing in kannada hope you like it. Your valuable feedbacks are always welcomed.

  ಫಲ ಸಂತರ್ಪಣೆ!      ಸುಬ್ಬುವಿನ ಮನೆಯ ಚಿಟ್ಟೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತು ನಾವು ಮೂವರು, ಅಷ್ಟದಿಕ್ಕುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದೊರೆಯುವ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಯಾವ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ಶುರು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು 'ಪ್ಲಾನ್ ಆಫ್ ಆಕ್ಷನ್' ಸಿದ್ಧಪಡಿಸಿದೆವು. ಅದರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮೊದಲು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ 'ದುರ್ಗಮ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಪನ್ನೇರಳೆ' ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಮರದಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ, 'ತೋಟದ ಒಳಗಿದ್ದ ಅಂಬರಲೇ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಮರ', ನಂತರ 'ಬ್ಯಾಣದ ಬಾಳೆ ಗುಡ್ಡಕ್ಕೆ ತಾಗಿಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ನೇರಳೆ ಮರ' ಹಾಗು ಕೊನೆಯದಾಗಿ 'ಅಣ್ಣೀಭಟ್ರು ಮನೆ ಗದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಪೇರಳೆ ಮರ' ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ಸಾರದ ಬಳಿ ಇರುವ 'ಚಂದ್ರ ಪೇರಳೆ' ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಭೇಟೆ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾಗಿತ್ತು.      ನಾನು ಸುಬ್ಬು ಸೇರಿ  ಹೆಗಲಿಗೆ ದೊಟಿಯನ್ನು ಏರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆವು, ತಂಗಿ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸಲು ತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವ ಅಡಿಕೆ ಹಾಳೆಯನ್ನು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಳು. ಮೂವರು ಪನ್ನೇರಳೆ ಮರದ ಕಡೆ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಹಾಕಿದೆವು. ಸುಬ್ಬು ಮನೆ ತೋಟದ ಕೊನೆಯ ಮುರುಕಲು ಸಾರ ದಾಟಿ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಏರಿಯ ತುತ್ತ ತುದಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮರವೇ ಪನ್ನೇರಳೆ ಹಣ್ಣಿನದು.  ಸಾರವನ್ನು ದಾಟುವಾಗಲೇ ಅರ್ಧ ಜೀವ ಹೋಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಆಸೆಗಾಗಿ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ ಬಗ್ಗಿದರೆ ಮಗಚಿ ಆಳವಾದ ಹಳ್ಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬೀಳುವುದು ಖಂಡಿತ. ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಮರ, ಸೂರ್ಯನ ಬೆಳಕು ಅಷ್ಟಾಗಿ ಬೀಳದ ಜಾಗ, ಕತ್ತಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕಪ್ಪಾಗಿ ತೋರುತ್ತಿರುವ
